Original article [Mon 12th Sep, 2022 18:05 BST]: It’s happening folks, it’s finally happening! After keeping us in the dark for months and months (except for a few rumors that convinced us of its truth), Nintendo announced today that it will host a full Direct Showcase tomorrow (September 13) to 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET / 3 p.m. BST.

Thanks to the words of Giant Bomb reporter and well-rounded rumor machine Jeff Grubb, we’ve been led to believe that there will be a lot of Zelda content we can get into this one. It seems likely we’ll hear about Switch ports for one or both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess, and tomorrow could finally be the day we can hear. something more on Breath of the Wild 2? Just give us at least one Nintendo title, please!

Tomorrow’s Direct is also rumored to see the revelation of Metroid Prime’s arrival on Switch, with rumors about that particular port seemingly floating around since the beginning of time itself.

But what else will we see? Will there be any news on Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp? Could we know about the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC? Will we know more about an upcoming Mario game, Odyssey 2 or something else? It is there more and more Zelda news we may have missed?

Some of our wonderful writers here at Nintendo Life have shared their predictions for what might appear in the Direct below. But don’t just take our word for it, we want to hear from you too! Fill out the survey at the bottom of this article, then skip to the comments to tell us what you’re excited about!

Let the predictions begin!

Oh, how I’d love to go against my predictions and say that I honestly believe this Direct is going to see something big and unexpected coming to Switch. The thing is, I’d be lying if I said I’m not thrilled with the most likely scenarios.

Aside from the ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, they are truly hoping for some Breath of the Wild 2 news. With Splatoon 3 out of the way and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on the horizon, Nintendo needs to give us some more information about their next big title, and why it shouldn’t be what they are most about enthusiastic? I think a full release date is still unlikely, but a new trailer and an official title must be in the cards, right?

It is for the same reason that I am waiting for some news on the next Mario Odyssey style game. Putting my personal infatuation with the 3D version aside, Odyssey was a huge title for Switch, and with Super Mario 3D All-Stars not coming close to itching, Big-N would do well to keep our love of the plumber. ends before the dreaded movie comes out …

With rumors churning out all the usual suspects (which – don’t get me wrong – I’d love to see them materialize), there are a couple of lower-tier titles that would brighten my day if they showed up. Grezzo has been terribly quiet for the past two years, and after observing the approaching 30th anniversary of The frog for which the bell rings (the Japan-only Game Boy title, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru, which served as the model for Link’s Awakening), I would like love to see a remake of the one on Switch in the same cute style.

The arrival of Game Boy titles on Nintendo Switch Online has been talked about for a while and it might make sense as a way to bolster the core offering. Having recently returned to Wave Race 64, it ignited my enthusiasm for a new entry in that series, either Excitebike, or 1080, or (whisper it) F-Zero. Or the paradise of rhythm. It’s time for more Rhythm Heaven!

And beyond the first party, there was that rumor that Rocksteady’s Arkham Collection was coming to Switch. I could stay behind.

I always like to enter a Nintendo Direct with low expectations for fear of being disappointed, but I confess: my heart needs more Hollow Knight: Silksong in my life. If we’re feeling bolder, how about a release date? I will be disappointed, right?

Anyway, for some things that seem more realistic: It’s been a while since we last heard of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. I will continue to talk about it on each of these posts until we have a new trailer or something. And, sticking with the RPGs, I think we might check out the first update of the Xenoblade Chronicle 3 Season Pass. It’s slated for winter after all!

In reality, though, Direct is the place where I get the most excited about things I never expected. I love surprises, so as excited as I’d be to see the Metroid Prime remake come true (and I’ll put in money so fast, having never played it on GameCube or Wii), a brand new title or a port of a hard hidden gem to find would be a blast. Show us what you have, Nintendo.

Like most Nintendo Direct, I feel like I can come up with a bunch of picks and then nobody of them turn out to be true. It is not so? That said, the rumors surrounding potential Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime ports are Like this widespread right now, I feel a bit like there has be something there, right?

Otherwise, I’d really like to see some sort of update on Metroid Prime 4; maybe just a short teaser? Something to tell me it’s still in the works and coming soon. I’d also like to see Switch get some tasty horror games over the next few months, because it looks like other platforms are getting all the good horror games right now (hello, Resident Evil 4 remake). For a final, rather niche prediction / wish, it would be absolutely incredible if developer ZA / UM came up with some sort of Disco Elysium sequel … One can only hope.

As for this winter – which Direct will apparently mainly focus on – I’m fine, you know? I don’t want to see much more of games like Bayonetta 3, Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope, and Sonic Frontiers. Certainly nothing about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, thank you very much. At this point I know if I’ll take them or not, so another trailer won’t change my mind.

Are you excited for Direct? Are there any titles we missed? Let us know in the comments below!
