The 10th generation iPad will have its biggest update in a decade

Apple has been working on more significant upgrades for its cheaper iPad. Information viewed by 9to5Mac reveals that the new 10th generation iPad (codenamed J272) will be equipped with a USB-C port instead of Lightning. This means Apple is finally planning to bring USB-C to the full range of iPads.

With USB-C, entry-level iPad users will also be able to easily connect it to more modern external displays like Apple’s Studio Display. We’ve also heard from our sources that the new entry-level iPad will feature a Retina display with the same resolution as the iPad Air’s display. We can expect a slight increase in the screen to 10.5 inches or even 10.9 inches. However, more modern display specs such as a wide color gamut with DCI-P3 and higher brightness will remain unique to the more expensive iPads.

Gurman also confirms 9to5Mac and says this tablet will have the A14 Bionic chip. Also, an October event could be the perfect time for Apple to introduce this tablet.
