MultiVersus Season 2 kicks off today, Marvin the Martian and Game of Thrones stage coming soon

After a season that saw Rick and Morty, Black Adam, and a couple of Gremlins join the roster, MultiVersus Season 2 kicks off today with news of Marvin the Martian and a new Game of Thrones-based level arriving in the coming months.

Marvin The Martian will be equipped with his trusty Illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator device, as well as a blaster pistol and the ability to summon spaceships. The Game of Thrones stage, meanwhile, will feature Westeros-themed hazards and Game of Thrones itself. Release dates for Marvin and the GoT stage will be announced “at a later date.”

Marvin the Martian will try to conquer the MultiVersus in the second season.

MultiVersus Season 2 will also include a new, enhanced battle pass which, unlike Season 1, will offer rewards at every tier across both the free and premium paths. The new skins available in the Battle Pass include a Sherlock Holmes-themed variant for Tom and Jerry, a conductor costume for Bugs, and astronaut Velma wearing a space suit.

The in-game store will also open with the start of Season 2, offering new Samurai Batman, Evil Morty, and Fern Finn skins for purchase with in-game Gleamium currency. All the major changes coming with Season 2 can be found in the patch notes below.

MultiVersus is now available for free on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Season 2 begins

Season 2 begins with a new Battle Pass packed with content. We listened to your feedback and made sure there were no levels without rewards. We’ve also adjusted the number of points needed to complete each tier so that the Battle Pass is engaging and rewarding.

Multi-path traffic acceleration

We have implemented some network traffic optimizations and multi-path traffic acceleration. This is just the beginning and we are seeing promising results, but we will continue to improve our online experience for everyone!


  • Scooby’s Mansion (homeless)
    • Increased case size by 10%.
      • Ringouts were arriving a little too fast on the map, so we increased the size a bit.
  • Space jam
    • Now we are counting the baskets made!
  • Scoring a field goal now awards points based on distance thrown. Try for some tough 3 pointers!
  • Basketball scores will now be broadcast on the BIG screen!
  • Attacking a player who is holding a basketball item will cause that player to drop the item. Try to fight for control of the court!
  • Court walls can no longer be attacked and will only break when a player’s wall bounces.
  • Space Jam is still only available in custom games or in the lab.
    • Any feedback would be appreciated as we continue to refine a version of the map for the queue!


  • The introductory tutorial has been simplified by removing a number of steps
  • VO clips have been added to the introductory tutorial.
  • Players now have the option to enter arcade mode or their first game after finishing the introductory tutorial.

  • Our new game type is Big Head Mode! Characters will have big heads and even bigger cooldown reductions! Use your newfound knowledge to take home victory!

Benefits and general bug fixes

  • Bug: Fixed an issue that caused the server to reject jumps when plugging into a wall.
  • School Me Once – Bullet block buff duration decreased to 1 second from 2 seconds
    • Accumulated duration reduced to 2 seconds from 4 seconds
    • Block buff is no longer consumed by light projectile attacks
  • Ice to beat you! – Ice stacks are now only applied by heavy projectiles

  • – Signature Perk – Treachery perk enrages allies/Arya but will inflict 3x weakened on 5x knockdown.
    • We were finding that the weakening affected the gameplay of Arya and her opponents too much at higher levels.


  • / Glide – Hurtbox’s z-axis issue caused attacks to inadvertently miss Batman while gliding.
  • / Grounded Down Attack – Delayed branch into dodge and jump on hit to prevent infinite chaining on itself.
  • / Aerial Down Special – Removed this move’s ability to recombine into itself to avoid endless chaining.
  • – Signature Perk – Bouncerang Applied Weakened Charges reduced to 3 from 5.
    • The level of power this gave for minimal effort made this advantage unfair to Batman’s opponents, so we reduced it a bit.
  • + Aerial Side Attack: Able to cancel wall slide 5 frames earlier

Black Adam

  • / General – Fixed an issue where the Electric Wire hitbox would remain after the visuals faded.
  • – Grounded Side Attack – Much smaller hitboxes for all 3 jabs to better match the graphics.
  • – Grounded Neutral Attack – Hitbox removed on Black Adam’s arms
  • + Special Grounded/Aerial Up – Takeoff triggers 3 frames early
  • + Ground/Air Lateral Special – Slightly increased projectile acceleration and stun.
  • + Grounded Up Attack – Added armor on startup


  • +Neutral Airstrike – Branches into jump earlier
    • We wanted to reintroduce some combo paths back to Bugs Bunny, avoiding his infinite loop. Let’s hope this change does.


  • – Weight – Weight reduced from 55 to 49
  • – Neutral Airstrike: Active hit frames start 2 frames later
  • ~ Armored Sandwiches – Block buff is no longer consumed by light projectile attacks


  • / Fixed a bug where his arm wound boxes would remain active during attacks when they weren’t intended.


  • – Grounded Up Attack – Added ammo to popcorn; 3 ammo returns 1 every 10 seconds
    • This was added to prevent a strategy that rewarded very passive gameplay in singles.
  • + Neutral Ground/Air Attack – Arrow going through popcorn increased damage from 8 to 10, recoil scaling increased from 12 to 13, base recoil increased from 1250 to 1350.
  • / Fixed the arrow being destroyed when it shouldn’t be.


  • + Weight – Weight increased to 48 from 44
  • ~ Neutral Ground/Air Special – Bat Bomb hitbox now better represents the z axis and hits more reliably.
  • ~ Side Ground Strike – The jump and dodge cancel window for jab 1 and jab 2 now comes later.
  • ~ Grounded Side Attack – Recoil angle on jab 2 increased more to avoid looping infinite combo
  • ~ Ground Side Attack – Can cancel other attacks 1 frame early on hit.
    • We’re testing these changes to remove an infinite combo. We understand this removes some combo paths from Harley, but we felt it was unhealthy for the game and the opponents facing it. We will continue to evaluate Harley’s power level after this change and welcome any feedback on these changes.


  • ~ Neutral Special – Wall bounce angle adjusted to be higher when spitting opponents into vertical walls
    • This was changed to prevent a Knockback-influence (KBI) skill check that could instantly hit players even with low damage.


  • / No-Basketball Down Special (No Basketball) – Defense now correctly blocks (and steals!) other LeBron balls.


  • ~ Neutral Ground Attack – Jab 3’s hitbox size reduced by 15% to better fit and align visually with Hammer Morty’s size.


  • / Fixed the portal killing Rick while in the grace area
  • / Fixed a bug where Rick can use ground attack while on cooldown
  • / Neutral Attack – Fixed bullet priority inconsistencies for the empty laser


  • / Aerial Side Strike: Allows ground swing movement even when loading the knee. This should allow the movement to continue and not be stopped for a better feel.

Steven Universe

  • / Fixed an issue where Steven or his allies would get hit twice while under the effect of Steven’s neutral shield
  • / Grounded Down Special – Shrunken watermelon seed hurtbox to better match the graphics.


  • – Weight – Weight reduced to 46 from 52.
  • / Implemented fixes to Stripes teleporting with chainsaw.

Tom and Jerry

  • ~ Aerial Up Special – Rocket explosion hitbox now better represents the z-axis.
  • ~ Aerial Up Special – Rocket launched without Jerry attached is now properly classified as a projectile.


  • / Fixed several issues where Velma comics were destroyed when they weren’t meant to be.
  • ~ Neutral Air/Ground Special – Bullhorn is now classified as a projectile. The first hits are light projectile hits, the final hit counts as a normal projectile hit.
    • Bullhorn now applies projectile perks
    • Megaphone is more reliably blocked by other projectiles and projectile blocking effects
    • Bullhorn will ignore invulnerable fighters, including those with a projectile sidestep boost
  • – Aerial Up Attack – Has 2 less active frames at the start of the affected frame.
  • – Grounded Side Special – Added 12 second cooldown
    • Velma’s Side Special is commonly used as a quick “pitstop” tool that serves as a means of providing her allies with constant gray health and armor when engaging enemy squads. Providing Velma’s Side Special with cooldown allows us to provide a portal so that Velma players aren’t able to constantly “micro-armor” their allies (and themselves). This change to Velma’s Side Special will ideally still allow Velma players and their allies to strategize around this move more consciously.
