“Mom Kris always has a backstory for whatever scandal her family goes through.”
If you’ve been on the internet for the past few days, you’ve probably seen the drama surrounding Taylor Swift and her private jet.
But if you missed it, Taylor – who famously keeps most of the details of her personal life under wraps – faced a lot of criticism on Friday after a report released by marketing and analytics agency Yard listed her. as the celebrity with the worst carbon emissions of private jets so far this year.
Using data provided by the popular Twitter account @CelebJetsYard studied a series of flight tracking maps to collect the ten celebrities whose jets have emitted the most CO2 since the beginning of the year.
Stars like Kim Kardashian, A-Rod and Floyd Mayweather found themselves on the list, with each of their jets emitting 4,268.5, 5,342.7 and 7,076.8 tons of harmful carbon, respectively.
But it was none other than Taylor who took the top spot, with his plane accumulating a total of 170 flights and emitting a whopping 8,293.54 tons of CO2 since early 2022, according to Yard.
Additionally, the average flight time of Taylor’s trips was just 80 minutes, with his shortest recorded flight – which was from Missouri to Nashville – taking just over half an hour, according to Yard’s report.
Unsurprisingly, when these details about Taylor’s jet usage surfaced online, several fans got outraged and used social media to express their dismay at the singer and also share a flurry of memes.
Before long, a Taylor rep attempted to disprove that the singer was solely responsible for her plane’s emissions, telling BuzzFeed News, “Taylor’s jet is regularly loaned to other people. To attribute most or all of these trips to her is patently incorrect.
However, this only ended up sparking more backlash, with several social media users suing Taylor for refusing to take responsibility.
“You really have to hand it over to Taylor Swift’s press officer because ‘he generously leases his jet for his poorest friends who can’t afford to use their own jets’ is the funniest way possible to put a humanitarian touch on his emissions. carbon, “one person he wrote on Twitter.
But interestingly, just before Taylor found himself in the center of public attention, there was another big celebrity who had already drawn criticism about the problematic use of his private jet: Kylie Jenner.
The talk began when Kylie posted a photo of herself and her boyfriend, Travis Scott, posing in front of their separate private jets. “do you want to take mine or yours?” she subtitled it her.
Kylie’s apparent nonchalance and “planet disregard” infuriated fans, and before long, many had discovered her jet records on @CelebJets, showing just past flights. 17 minutes.
But while Kylie’s jet use is certainly excessive and harmful to the environment, we now know it’s not as bad as the other celebrities on Yard’s list, with the tycoon not even making it into the top 10 criminals.
And so, when Yard’s report appeared online and inadvertently distracted people from Kylie’s post, some fans couldn’t help but speculate that a certain famous momager, aka Kris Jenner, had something to do with it.
As you probably know, it’s somehow a recurring joke that Kris, who is the mom and manager of all the KarJenners, often pulls the strings behind the scenes for the benefit of her family whenever they’re involved in a scandal.
This is, of course, entirely speculative. But the jokes certainly took off online when news of Taylor’s jet use suddenly came to light, with fans posting a barrage of memes joking that Kris was the one behind it all.
In fact, the clip ended up grabbing attention by none other than Khloé Kardashian, who blatantly liked the post after it was re-shared on Instagram.
Clearly entertained by the joke, Khloé wasn’t alone in her amusement, with plenty of other fans making fun of the whole thing as well.
“LMFAOOOOOOO this reminds me of that meme that said the devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder,” commented one person.
“Mom Kris always has a backstory for whatever scandal her family goes through,” joked another.
